Mrs. Marie J. (Martel) Demers, 79, of Lawrence, passed away on April 23, 2026 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The daughter of the late Gaston and Ida (Carrier) Martel, she was born in Lawrence on August 28, 1946 and had been an area resident all her life. Marie attended Sacred Heart grammar school and Presentation of Mary High School in Hudson N.H. Marie was retired from the IRS where she worked as a tax examiner. She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Marie is the widow of Raymond Demers and is survived by her Daughter Michelle and her husband Dean Scott of Lawrence, one son Raymond Demers of Haverhill, Tyler Scott and his girlfriend Holly Shepard, Aubrey Demers, Zachary Scott, one great grandchild Ryder Scott
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut.
