Rose A. (Correia) Costa, 82, of New Bedford died September 15, 2006 at Taber Street Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Frank Costa, Jr.
Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Frank and Serafina (Andrade) Correia, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. Costa was formerly employed as a stitcher at several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
She volunteered at PACE Head Start as a foster grandparent. Mrs. Costa enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Costa III, and his companion Grace Herbert, Robert A. Costa, and his wife Terry, and Dennis D. Costa, and his wife Elaine, all of New Bedford; a daughter, Patricia A. Pike, and her husband Arthur, of New Bedford; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, September 19th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, September 18th from 5-8 PM.
Interment Rural Cemetery.
