Obituary

Peggy J. Wallet, born May 26, 1955, in Sterling CO, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Peggy spent her early childhood in Santa Maria before being raised in Camarillo, attended Camarillo High School and then met the love of her life where she built the foundation of a life centered on family, resilience, and love.
She shared 52 devoted years of marriage with her beloved husband, Stan Wallet. He would always say he knew from the very beginning that Peggy was the one, a love at first sight that grew stronger with each passing year. Together they created a strong and loving family, raising two children, Amanda Kreig and Curtis Wallet.
Peggy was a proud and deeply devoted grandmother to Royce and Samuel Kreig. She treasured the many nights spent together during sleepovers, where laughter filled the home and memories were made baking, as she would say, “Side by each,” in the kitchen. Those simple, joyful moments meant everything to her. She found happiness in life’s quiet pleasures—playing cards with her dearest friends, working on puzzles, and taking regular walks. These routines reflected her steady, thoughtful nature and her appreciation for time spent with others.
Peggy’s 37-year career was a shining example of her dedication and strong work ethic. She played an important role at MWR – Morale, Welfare & Recreation where she was responsible for the funding of many clubs and reviewed and maintained all financial summaries. She was then promoted to CECOS where she appropriated funds for the Center for Seabees and Facilities. She was respected for her reliability, commitment, and care in all she did. She loved her work and her co-workers, and that was evident to her husband and children.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stan; her children, Amanda and Curtis; her son-in-law, Erich; late daughter-in-law, Jenny Corley and her cherished grandchildren, Sam and Royce along with Jenny’s girls Brianna and Morgan.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bonnie Hurst, and her siblings, Connie, Pat, and Randy. Though she outlived her immediate family, she carried their memory with her always.
Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created the values she instilled, and the memories her family will hold close forever.
A private family celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
