Peabody: Roland F. ‘Mitch’ Michaud age 78 of Peabody, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, September 13, 2006. He was the husband of Grace T. (Rouillard) Michaud, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Plante) Michaud. During the Korean Conflict he served in France with the Army. Following his tour of duty he returned to Salem and drove for the Michaud & Raymond Oil Co. of Salem. He later delivered for Quality Linens and Morgan Linens. In 1975 he and his business partner bought the Howe’s Station Market in Middleton, which they operated until their retirement in 1989.
Mitch was a resident of Salem for many years before he and his family moved to Peabody in 1972. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish of Peabody and the P.L.A.V. of Salem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Paul R. Michaud of Peabody, a sister: Rita Samolchuk of Epping, NH a brother: Norman Michaud and his wife Mary of Salem. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Michaud.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 9:45 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by his funeral mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Church St. Peabody at 11 am.
