Obituary

LIMINGTON - Normand “NORM” C. Turgeon Jr. passed away on April 11th, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on November 15, 1954, to Normand Charles Turgeon Sr. and Rosalie Elise (Picher) Turgeon.
After graduating from Thornton Academy in 1972, Norm joined the United States Navy from 1972-1978 serving as a Radioman. From 1983 - 1989 he was part of the Seabees; Ready Reserves where he worked with heavy construction equipment in Gitmo, Cuba while closely alongside the Marines.
Norm married his wife of 18 years, Darleen (Servin) Turgeon on August 4th, 2007. They enjoyed most of his hobbies together like fishing, riding his Harley, jam sessions, going to Bluesfest and Louden races.
After his years of service in the military, Norm was employed by AJ Cole as a mechanic working his way up to shop supervisor. Other employment included Atlantic Great Dane, Reynolds Sport center, and American Motorcycle. Norm later worked at Cabala’s in the gun department, then transferred to the gun library. After retirement he worked at Steep Falls Building Supply and NAPA in Kezar Falls.
After being in a serious motorcycle accident in the 1990’s, Norm’s interest changed to computers. He began working at Southern Maine Community College as a Professor of Computer Science. While there he earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Technical Education from University of Southern Maine in 2006. He was recognized and became a member of the “Golden Key International Honour Society” and was honored during an induction ceremony at the University of Southern Maine in 2006.
He was a certified Hunter Safety Instructor, Range Safety officer, and NRA Certified Instructor for firearm safety. He was a member of the Buxton Hollis Rod and Gun Club where he also served as an instructor.
Norm enjoyed doing research. He was extremely mechanically inclined and wanted to know how everything worked. Norm knew how to fix anything! If he didn’t know from past experience, he would find out from research. Throughout his life, he was always seeking to expand his knowledge on past and current events. He enjoyed listening to Glen Beck and other talk shows that kept him up to date on what's happening around the world. He enjoyed watching religious and historical documentaries, programs and movies. He loved his family, his pets, listening to music (especially the blues) and attended “Bluesfest” every year in Naples, spending time in his garage, fishing, riding his Harley, shooting at the range, playing music with friends having jam sessions, and camping at Louden during September races.
Norm was a true friend you could always depend on and could take him at his word. He was a devout Christian, deacon, played guitar, banjitar and occasionally sang with the worship team at Living Stone Community Church.
He is predeceased by his parents Normand and Rosalie Turgeon, Stepson Peter J Morey and Grandchildren Dylan and Leah.
Normand is survived by his beloved wife Darleen, his Daughter Larissa Chalou and her husband Troy, and stepson Bill Morey and his wife Kristen. Siblings Charles Turgeon and his wife Diane, Martha Whitmore and her husband Mark, Peter Turgeon and his wife Karen. His nieces and nephews Jennifer, Jeffrey, Mark, Kyle, and Cameron. His Grandchildren Jamie, Brittany and Elise. And his 8 Great Grandchildren MaKayla, Riley, Jaxson, Layla, Willow, Dylan, Tristan and Ava.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
