Obituary


BUXTON—Deborah June Olds, 69, passed away suddenly at her home on April 17, 2026.
Deborah was born on July 9, 1956, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Charles W. Cobb and Priscilla J. (Hudson) Cobb. She later made her home in Buxton, Maine.
She attended Mahoney Junior High School and graduated from South Portland High School. Deborah married John W. Olds on May 30, 1977, and together they built a life centered around family.
Deborah worked as a cafeteria cashier for the Buxton school system, where she was known for her warmth and kindness toward the children she served. Outside of work, she enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.
She was a dedicated Cub Scout den mother and was deeply involved in supporting her family and community. Deborah was also a proud breast cancer survivor, demonstrating strength and resilience that inspired those around her.
Deborah was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Gary M. Cobb.
She is survived by her loving husband, John W. Olds; her twin sister, Donna G. Austin; her brother, Paul M. Cobb, and his ex-wife, Mary Jones Cobb; her sons, William D. Olds and Daniel P. Olds; William’s girlfriend, Christina Marshall; and many beloved nieces and nephews: Gary M. Cobb and his wife Tara, Sherry Cobb, Christopher M. Harrison and his wife Janelle, Amy L. Harrison and her boyfriend Tyler Powell, Paul Cobb and his wife Jaime Lynn, Joshua Cobb and his wife Marybeth Cobb, and Malina Cobb and her boyfriend Noah Cleaves.
Deborah was lovingly known as “Grammie Debbie” to her sister’s grandchildren, Kayden, Egan, and Charles, who brought her immense joy.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 1st at 2 PM at South Buxton Cemetery (Woodman/New section) at the first columbarium. A gathering will be held afterward at River Tap and Grill, 52 Golf Course Lane in Hollis. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
