Auburn – Carole E. (Nyman) Platukis, 83, of Auburn, formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Carole is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Peter G. Platukis; children, Kristine Rusack of Auburn and Peter D. Platukis of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Carole was born in Gardner, MA daughter of the late, George and Evelyn (Payne) Nyman and is also predeceased by two brothers, George and Dwayne Nyman and a grandson.
Mrs. Platukis worked for many years in the banking industry, primarily in operation centers. She enjoyed travel especially to historical sites and could often be found knitting or reading a book. However, she was truly the happiest when she was able to spend time with her family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11 AM in the Dirsa – Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
