Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Frederick Watt on April 9, 2026, at the age of 83. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Born and raised in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, John later made his home in Easton, Massachusetts, where he resided for the past 30 years. He dedicated many years of hard work to Boston Gas, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

John was a devoted husband to his wife, Loretta Watt, and a loving father to his three daughters: Lauren Saraf (husband Paul Saraf), Linda Watt (Edward Almeida), and Leslie Watt-McArdle (Francis McArdle). He was a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren: Caitlyn Watt (SriVidhya Watt), Francis M. McArdle (Aaron Steele), Ryan Saraf, and Jonathan McArdle. He was also a cherished brother to his sister Janice Wallace (late Paul Wallace), whom he adored.

Known for his lighthearted spirit, John was always laughing, joking, dancing, and bringing smiles to those around him. He had a deep love for animals and a kind heart that was felt by everyone he met.
Above all, he loved his family more than anything. They brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent together, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth. His presence, humor, unwavering love, and, most of all, his incredibly heartfelt hugs will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
