Louis T. Bruno, Jr., aged 84, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 23, 1941, in Derry, he was the cherished son of the late Louis Bruno, Sr. and Lois (Day) Bruno. For the past four decades, Louis called Londonderry home, but his roots in Derry ran deep, where he dedicated 25+ years of his career as the Superintendent of the Town of Derry Highway Department. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Louis carried his service with honor as a member of the American Legion Post #9 in Derry, where he participated on the Honor Guard, paying tribute to his fellow veterans. His commitment to his community extended beyond military service; he was also an active member of the VFW Post #1617 in Derry. Louis’s spirit of service shone brightly during his many years as a call fireman, where he bravely responded to emergencies and forged lasting bonds with his fellow firefighters. As a member of the Halcyon Club, he enjoyed camaraderie and community engagement. In his leisure time, Louis was a passionate fisherman and hunter. He found joy and solace at his beloved camp in Pittsburg, NH, where he spent countless hours in nature, casting lines and tracking the great outdoors.
Louis leaves behind a loving family that includes two devoted sons, Eugene Cerullo and Daniel Cerullo; four wonderful daughters, Karen Bruno, Michelle Hart, Angela Cerullo, and Maria Cerullo; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who made him light up when they would visit. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Bruno, (Shirley Bruno), and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2024 by his beloved wife, Rose (Sarkisian) Bruno, his son, David Bruno, and his two brothers, Norman Bruno and Roland Bruno.
A calling hour to honor Louis’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00 to 10:00am at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following the calling hour, a heartfelt funeral service will commence at 10:00am in the funeral home. Louis will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry, a serene location fitting for a man who cherished the natural world. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/donate, honoring Louis’s legacy of kindness and service to others.
