Mr. Christian C. Petersen, beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Rose) Petersen, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital in Lowell Massachusetts on Monday, April 6, 2026 He was 86 years old.
Born in Natick, Massachusetts on August 11, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Lovegren) Petersen. Mr. Petersen was self employed as an electrical engineer, a job he loved throughout his life, resulting in over 40 patents for different inventions. He enjoyed over 40 years living on Patuisset island on Cape Cod in a home he designed and helped build. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, visiting the national parks, and working on his cars. Christian will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his brother, Harold and his wife Gail Petersen of Barnstable, MA. He is also survived by his loving children, Christian C. and his wife Katherine Petersen Jr. of Epping, NH, Glenn R. and his wife Robyn Petersen of Medway, MA, Wendy S. Petersen of Falmouth, ME and Gregg T. and his wife Sarah Petersen of Oakham, MA., Step-children Dr. Donald and his wife Dr. Maureen O'Rourke of Wynnewood, PA, Karen Bryant of E. Sandwich, MA, Scott O'Rourke and his wife Nirasha Malgahagamage of Hanover, NH and Kristin O"Rourke and her husband Klaus Mladek of Lebanon, NH. Christian is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Christian was also the father-in-law of the late Thomas Darcy.
His graveside service will be held in the Crocker Park Cemetery, Church street, West Barnstable MA on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
