Gail Eve (Knapp) Wilkinson, 73, of Groton died on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London. Her husband, George F. “Sandy” Wilkinson predeceased her in November of 2024.
Gail was born on July 8, 1952, the daughter of Theodore and Shirley (Eastwood) Knapp. She grew up in Connecticut with her mother, Shirley, and her beloved stepfather, Donald Wildman.
She enjoyed scrapbooking and leaves behind many memories with her lady friends at crops and coffee dates.
Gail is survived by her children; Christine Foular (Ronald), Everett Tillinghast (Suzanne) and Stephen Wilkinson (Jennifer). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Tori Foular, Jeremy Foular (Kenzie), Taylor Hannegan (Cody), Stephen Wilkinson Jr. (Jessie), Ashley Tillinghast (Cole), Everett Tillinghast Jr., and her great grandchildren Layla, Benji, and Emma and her bonus grandson Lincoln.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Gail's life on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00pm at the Groton Elk's Club, 700 Shennecossett Road, Groton.
