
Angela (Centamori) Dovidio passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Massachusetts General Hospital on March 31st. She was 89. Born and raised in Mineo, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and the late Giovanna (Cudde) Centamori.
Angela was a devoted and loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. She came to the United States in 1968 and lived in Medford briefly before settling in Somerville where she kept a beautiful and welcoming home with her beloved husband Salvatore. Angela worked for many years as a seamstress. She was very devoted to her family and was like a mother and grandmother to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed preparing delicious meals and sharing her time with family and friends. Angela was a very devout woman with a deep spirituality. She was a daily communicant at Saint Ann’s and would often lead special prayer groups. She was very supportive of the priests of the parish and shared her generous spirit with everyone she met.
Angela was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore G. Dovidio who passed away in 1991. She was a devoted sister to Concetta Renda, Emanuela Ferullo, Suora Maria Fausta Centamori, and the late Maria Asaro, Suora Maria Lilliana Centamori and Suora Maria Fiorenza Centamori. She was a beloved aunt of her caregiver Nella Cartolano and her husband Anthony, Filippo Asaro and his wife Jennifer, Joseph Renda, Americo Ferullo, Johnny Ferullo, Maria DeRosa, Dina Markowski and Lillian Carey. She was a loving great-aunt to Anthony, Abrielle, Pasquale, Giuliana, Gia, AnnaLisa, Ayva, Nicola, Enzo, Dante, Matthew and Felicia.
Angela’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Thursday April 9 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday 4 – 8 PM.
