
LONGMEADOW - Rolland A. Rivest III, 66, of Longmeadow, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on May 8, 1959, a beloved son of the late Rolland A. Rivest, Jr. and Theresa M. (Leclerc) Rivest. He was raised and educated in Springfield and had moved to Longmeadow in 2011 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was employed as a machinist and wire EDM at Smith and Wesson in Springfield and had also worked as a nightshift lift supervisor at the former Mount Tom Ski Area in Holyoke. He was last employed as a machinist at the Marox Corporation in Holyoke. During his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved flying and had spent time pursuing a pilot's license. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He will truly be missed for his jokes and his sense of humor. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Judith A. (Mango) Rivest. They were married on June 28, 2011 at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield and were blessed to be together for over 25 years. He also leaves his three loving children, Craig Rivest and his wife, Christina, of Hampden, Briana M. Mango of Longmeadow and Jake A. Rivest of Springfield; his two cherished grandsons, Brayden and Ryder Rivest; his two dear brothers, Gary Rivest and his wife, Sandy, of Springfield and Randy Rivest and his wife, Christie, of Hampden; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his cherished grandson, Bryce Rivest. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
