
Marcel Alcica Cherenfant, born on January 16, 1950 in Haiti, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Winchester, Massachusetts.
Marcel immigrated to the United States in 1980 in pursuit of greater opportunities for himself and his family. He became a proud United States citizen in 1998. A hardworking and dedicated man, Marcel spent many years working as a restaurant maintenance technician and later as a cab driver, always doing what was necessary to provide for his loved ones.
He was a devoted father who deeply valued education. Marcel believed strongly in the power of higher education to open doors, and he took great pride in ensuring that each of his children had the opportunity to pursue and obtain at least a bachelor`s degree—something he himself was not afforded. Marcel will be remembered for his resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to his family.
He is survived by his children: Gina Cherenfant of Burlington, MA; Esther Cherenfant and spouse of Lynn, MA; Marceline Cherenfant and spouse of Florida, USA; Daphnée Cherenfant and spouse of Massachusetts, Florida; Michelle D. Jefferson of Hartford, Connecticut, USA; Steve Cherenfant of Allston, MA; Ruth Cherenfant and spouse of Cambridge, MA; Linda Cherenfant of Everett, MA; and Patrick Cherenfant and spouse of Waltham, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren and is predeceased by one grandchild.
A service to honor Marcel`s life will be held on Saturday, April 4th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at McLaughlin-Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St, Woburn, MA 01801. Services will conclude with burial at Pine Haven Cemetery, 84 Bedford St., Burlington. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home.
