Stergios “Stellios” Margaritopoulos, 71, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at his home in Weymouth, MA, after a brief, sudden illness.
Born on April 24th, 1954 in Kilkis, Greece, he crossed the Atlantic ocean to America by boat, settling in the Greater Boston area, which he called home for many decades.
A hardworking and independent individual, he was a business owner and beloved employee in pizzerias along the Northeastern seacoast, from Massachusetts to Maine.
At heart, Stellios was an entrepreneur and was incredibly dedicated to his industry. He very much enjoyed the daily operations of doing business, cooking, honing recipes, seeking menu inspiration, and had an incredibly strong work ethic. He also loved coffee, reading, driving, listening to the radio, and racing.
Those that loved him, hoped for much more time. It’s difficult to imagine a life without his popping by at any moment.
He will be remembered most for his dedication to work, love for his friends, and overall hilarity. He was a quiet, funny man with a genuine heart.
He is survived by family in Greece, his extended work families, and those he honored by calling them best friends. Stellios was very much loved, and he will very much be missed.
A heartfelt thank you to all those that helped care for Stellios in his final days.
