
Raymond "Ray" Edward Parkinson, 86, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Wareham.
He was the husband of Pauline L. (Arsenault) Parkinson. They shared 63 years of marriage. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend whose quiet and unassuming support and friendship touched all that knew him.
Ray was born in New Bedford, son of the late Edward W. and Marie L. (Landry) Parkinson and graduated from New Bedford High School and brother of the late Ronald A. Parkinson.
Survivors along with his wife include four daughters, Debra Parkinson (Peggy), Paula Nord (Russell), Rebecca Willis (Henry) and Brenda Ireland (Michael), eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Prior to retirement, he held roles as an automotive service manager and bus driver for American Eagle Motorcoach. He was a member of the Sippican Rod and Gun Club for over 25 years volunteering much of his time supporting the club. He was a WWII aviation enthusiast with his favorite being the B17 Flying Fortress.
Memorial visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Kirby Funeral Home, New Bedford from 3 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. immediately followed by a 4:30 P.M. service.
Interment will be private.
