Jeannette E. (Lemelin) Johnson, 96, of Danvers, passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side on Saturday, March 28, 2026 following a long illness. She was the loving wife of Stanley L. Johnson, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Archille and Florence (Levesque) Lemelin. As a young woman she was employed in the offices of the former Almy’s Department Store in Salem. Following her marriage,
she devoted her early marriage years to the care of her family while later working part time in sales, for Marshall’s. Jeannette later worked for the Town of Beverly in the school cafeteria and lastly for Hunt Retirement and Nursing Home, Danvers.
Jeannette was a family and home person and a loving member of her large extended family. She was also a deeply religious woman and devoted member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Danvers. She enjoyed both, attending and organizing yard sales as well as spending time at their camp in Maine.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon A. Hughes of Beverly, and son. Steven A. Johnson and wife Donna of Salem, grandson, Roy McDennon, Jr. and wife Saige their daughter Isabel and son Noah all of Los Carbos, Mexico. She also leaves close family friends, Linda and Mark Glover, and life long friend Flo Leclerc. Her family would like to thank her very special caretakers, Natalie, Maryann, Kim, Kerri, Denise, Jillian and her niece Diane. She was predeceased by her husband, and her sons, Stanley, Jr. Jamie & Johnnie, and granddaughter, Shelby Hughes, as well as her 7 siblings, Helen, Blanche, Theresa, Desire, Hector, Robert and Victor.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from 9:00 AM to 11:0 0 AM with her funeral service at 11:00 AM.
