
Robert F. Cecchini, age 73, of Woburn, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband for 47 years of Nancy J. (Kreatz) Cecchini. Born in Stoneham he was the son of the late Leo and Josephine (Russo) Cecchini.
Robert was raised and educated in Medford and Woburn. He was a 1971 graduate of Woburn High School. He worked for many years prior to his declining health as a Supervisor with the ABF Trucking Company where he was trusted employee and fostered many cherished friendships with his coworkers. Over the years and in his leisure time, Robert enjoyed hunting with his father and friends as well as target shooting. He enjoyed the outdoors, regularly walking Horn Pond with Nancy by his side and together they also enjoyed antiquing. Robert was a car enthusiast and especially had a fondness and love for Volkswagens. Known to many other car enthusiasts as "Beatle Bob" Robert loved working on the cars and racing them at the New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his beloved wife Nancy, Robert is survived by his two sons, Christopher Cecchini and his wife Andrea Sparko of Woburn, Max Cecchini and his wife Missy of Woburn. He was the brother of the late Paul Cecchini and his surviving wife Joanne Cecchini. Brother-in-law of Daniel Kreatz and his wife Kathleen, Patrick Kreatz and his wife Kathleen, Frederick Kreatz and his wife Lauren, John Kreatz and Gregory Kreatz, all of Medford, the late Gary Kreatz, the late Thomas Kreatz, Judy Lawlor of New Hampshire and her late husband Wayne Lawlor, Kelly Martin of Milton and her late husband Tony, Tracey Hoxie and her husband Daniel of South Carolina. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family would also like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the men and women of the Woburn Fire Department, Armstrong Ambulance, Winchester Hospital Emergency and the Winchester Hospital ICU for the consistent phenomenal care given to Robert, which will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, April 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers charitable contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the charity of one's choice.
