CUSHING, Burton “Burt” F. of West Roxbury, passed away on March 23, 2026. Beloved husband of Marilyn A. “Mimi” (McInerney) Cushing. Devoted father of Paula Nocca and her partner Sara Curran of NY, Laurel Kadlick and her husband Richard “Richie” of Norwood, John Cushing and his wife Ann of Roslindale, Michael Nocca and his wife Yvonne of FL, Jim Cushing and his partner Lynne Bakuzonis of Mansfield, William Cushing and his wife Kristy of WY, and the late Steven Cushing and his late wife JoAnne. Dear brother of Shirley Parenteau of Stoughton and predeceased by 6 other siblings. Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Beth Cushing, Jennifer Sprissler, Kelli Larrubia, Ryan Kadlick, Sean Cushing, Dan Cushing, Cameron Nocca, Brenden Nocca, Patrick Cushing, and Matthew Cushing and 6 great grandchildren: Jasmine, Abby, Savannah, Tessa, Emerson, and Jackson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Boston, raised in Stoughton and lived in West Roxbury for the past 54 years. He served in the U.S. Army for 8 ½ years where he traveled to places as close as New Jersey to as far as Germany and Iwo Jima. He was a very patriotic and proud American.

Burt was a member of the Easton Rod and Gun Club where he served as the President. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in West Roxbury.

He was an avid Boston Sports fan, his favorite being the New England Patriots. He loved music (especially Johnny Cash), dancing, fishing and traveling. He looked forward to his annual vacation with Mimi to the Merriweather Resort in Fort Lauderdale for the past 30 years. He was a hard working man and lived a beautiful life for almost 91years. His most prized possessions were his wife and his family.

Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private. Visiting Hours Friday, March 27th from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the Funeral Home.
