Michael “Mike T.” Tatalias of Weymouth, formally of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2026, after a long illness at the age of 72.
Mike was born in Boston on September 27, 1953, to the late Virginia “Maggie” (DiCicco) Tatalias and Wilfred Tatalias. He was a hard worker and an avid Boston sports fan, with the exception of football. He cheered for the Miami Dolphins, much to the dismay of his children. Whenever teased about their losing seasons, his response was always the same: “1972 Dolphins went 17-0 and came home with the Lombardi, baby.”
He is survived by his five children, Dina Tatalias and her wife Kristen, Michael Tatalias and his wife Brittany, Kevin Gorney and his husband Allen, Stephanie Tatalias, Anthony Tatalias and their mother, Marcia Tatalias. He was also the beloved Pop/Papa to Dylan, Aivalyn, Lincoln, Bronson, Finley, Logan, Alivia, Kyleigh, Sophia, Savannah, and Jaxon.
Mike leaves behind his sisters, Virginia “Cindy” O’Mara and Maureen Tatalias, his sister-in-law, Lisa (Davis) Tatalias and many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his TGO family. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard “Ricky” Tatalias who he missed dearly.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
