Louise B. (Hunt) Courbron, age 97, a former longtime resident of Norton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Wingate at Silver lake in Kingston. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Courbron.
Born in Attleboro, MA on January 7, 1929, she was a loving daughter of the late Hadley and Bertha (VanEmberg) Hunt.
Louise grew up in Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro schools. Before retiring, she had worked as a cook at the former Van Dora Nursing Home in Foxborough and was previously, for many years, at the L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro.
A former resident of Norton for over sixty years, Mrs. Courbron was a member of the Chartley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and Louise’s hobbies included spending time in her yard, gardening, cooking and being an avid reader.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Ruth D. Karp of Sarasota, Florida and Ruth’s late husband Ronald Karp. She was pre-deceased by her siblings and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, including the late Joseph Warchal, who is survived by his wife Jean Warchal and their family of Norton.
Services, along with burial at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton, will take privately and visiting hours have been omitted.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street, Norton.
