Frank Theodore DiMasi was peacefully called home to God in the early morning hours of
Saturday March 21, 2026, from his home in Plymouth, NH. In his 92 years, Frank touched the
lives of so many with his warm, lighthearted and loving presence.
Frank was born on September 23, 1933, in the North End of Boston, where he grew up in a
close-knit family with Italian/American parents, Nicola and Michelina DiMasi and four older
brothers, Pat, Pepi, Ted and Tony. After high school, he attended Boston College and then Tufts
Medical School where he received his medical degree and began his career as a physician,
specializing in OB/GYN. He was highly respected, honored and praised by patients and colleagues for his gentle manner, integrity and caring heart as he helped to bring thousands of
new lives into the world over his 50 year career. In addition, he served his country in the U.S. Army for three years during the Vietnam War where he was stationed at Fort Campbell,
KY., to deliver babies at the base.
Frank was a lifetime learner and lover of knowledge and you could find him at the library where
he frequented. He was also spiritual and enjoyed quiet time with nature at his home on Cape
Cod. He was a great chef and loved food and gatherings to share meals and conversation. He
was jovial and humorous, always bringing laughter and light heartedness to all who knew him.
Frank is survived by his three loving children, Stephanie DiMasi of Melrose, MA, Juliana
Twomey of Plymouth, NH and Matthew DiMasi of Dunbarton, NH and his five grandchildren
Sarah Garland, Jessica Lennon, Francesco Lapitino, Nico Lapitino and Jake DiMasi. He also
leaves behind many nephews and nieces, close friends and loved ones.
Family was the most important thing to Frank. He was present and supportive in every way for
his children, grandchildren and extended family and showed us the importance of always
staying close. He was a peaceful and gentle soul, patient and accepting of his circumstances
no matter what they might have been, with a smile and always with grace.
Frank was truly someone to admire. He was loved and held in highest regard by all who knew
him. His warmth and loving presence will be greatly missed and will always remain with us in
our hearts.
In honor of Frank’s wishes his burial will be private. However, a Memorial Mass in his honor will
be held in June of 2026 with a “Celebration of Life” to follow.
