Frederick William Brent (Barthelmess III), 61, of Barrington, New Hampshire, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, of natural causes.
He was born on September 4, 1964, to Nancy Barthelmess and Frederick Barthelmess Jr., both of whom preceded him in death. He was also raised by his adoptive father, Walter Brent, who has also passed.
Frederick was known for his strength, honesty, and sense of humor. He worked hard, cared deeply for others, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a protector at heart, a devoted father and grandfather, and a pillar of his community.
He ran a pawn and consignment shop for over 20 years, was involved in real estate development, and served as a landlord and created a welcoming spot for travelers and campers during Bike Week and beyond. His business and generosity made him a trusted figure to many in the area.
His grandchildren Nevaeh, Cadence, Kaleb, Sophia, and Cameron brought him immense joy. He loved simple pleasures: sitting by a fire under the stars, spending time with his dogs, and being surrounded by family.
He often told his family to “be a rock,” encouraging strength for ourselves and each other. In truth, he was the rock that held his family together, always steadfast and dependable.
He is survived by his children, Eric and Michelle and a large extended family of siblings, relatives, and loved ones.
Frederick will be remembered for his generous heart, resilience, sense of humor, and his lasting impact on both his family and his community. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
