Obituary

LOWELL: Gerald A. Cobleigh, age 72, a resident of Lowell for the past two years, died Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Tyngsboro on August 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Anna (Burton) Cobleigh.
Mr. Cobleigh was raised in Tyngsboro.
He attended Tyngsboro schools and was graduated from Lowell High School in 1953.
Mr. Cobleigh was a resident of Tyngsboro for 70 years until moving to Lowell in 2004.
Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was employed as a draftsman by the Raytheon Corporation of Tewksbury, where he worked for over 40 years.
Mr. Cobleigh was a former member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks and a Masonic Lodge in Quincy.
In earlier years, he served a coach for the Tyngsboro Youth Hockey Program.
He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and according to his family, he was an avid New York Giants Football Fan.
Mr. Cobleigh is survived by one daughter; Kathy A. Kourkoulos and her husband Leo of Tewksbury; two sons; Steven G. Cobleigh and his wife Elizabeth (Celeste) of Suwanee, Georgia and Michael J. Cobleigh of Englewood, FL; his former wife Eleanor (Banakos) Cobleigh of Tewksbury; two sisters; Janice Taylor and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH and Elsie M. Wyman and her husband George of Westford; five brothers; Morris H. Cobleigh and his wife Pauline of Westford, James D. Cobleigh and his wife Shirley of Nashua, NH, Raymond E. Cobleigh and his wife Janie of Tewksbury, Robert W. Cobleigh and his wife Linda of Florida and David B. Cobleigh and his wife Patricia of Westford; four grandchildren; Nicholas C. Cobleigh of Suwanee, Georgia, Christos L. Kourkoulos of Tewksbury, Brandon and Samantha Bacca of Raymond, NH; one brother-in-law; Harold Gilpatrick of Chelmsford; also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cobleigh was the brother of the late Frank E. Cobleigh, Jr., Russell N. Cobleigh, Gladys M. Anderson, Dorothy E. Hutchinson and Muriel V. Gilpatrick.
Calling hours Friday, September 15th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Saturday, September 16th at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment at Thompson Cemetery, Tyngsboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to H.A.A. Endowment Trust, P.O. Box 1252, Lowell, MA 01853-1252 are requested.
