Richard A. Sullivan, Sr., of Medford and Somerville passed away on March 5, 2026. He was 76 years old. Richard was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Castaldo) Sullivan. Born in Boston, he is the cherished son of the late Walter and Helen (McCormick) Sullivan.
Prior to his retirement, Richard was the owner of the Medford St. Variety Store in Somerville.
Richard was the devoted father of Ryan W. Sullivan and Erin Blauvelt and her partner Antonio Restrepo, all of Medford, and the late Richard A. "Rick" Sullivan Jr. He was the adored grandfather of Haley "Jax" and Michael. Richard was the dear brother of the Maryann Ferris and is also survived by several cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA, on Wednesday, March 25, from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are invited.
Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery-Medford.
