
SACO- Lewis Edward Gordon Jr., 84, of Saco, Maine, formerly of Amenia, New York, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026.
Born on December 14, 1941, at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut, Lewis was the son of the late Lewis Edward Gordon Sr. and Ruth Gordon.
Lewis was a graduate of Webutuck High School, class of 1959. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force before going on to further his education at the Harlem School of Nursing, graduating in 1970. Throughout his life, Lewis demonstrated a deep commitment to his community. He served as a former president of the Amenia Fire Company and was a dedicated member of the Freemasons and Widow's Son, in which he carried with pride. Lewis will be remembered for his service, loyalty, and devotion to his friends and his community, as well as for his sense of humor and his love of motorcycles.
He is survived by his loving children: daughter Laurie Bates; son Warren Gordon and wife Jackie; and daughter Michelle Holst-Grubbe and her husband, Kevin; and his former wife Alma Gordon, the mother of his three children. He is also survived by his brother, Owen Gordon and his wife, Bobby; grandchildren: Nicholas Horton, Ashley Gordon, Derek Gordon, Bradyn Holst-Grubbe, Camren Holst-Grubbe and Paige Holst-Grubbe, three great grandchildren; his nephew Dr. Randel "Laz" Gordon, nephew Owen Gordon Jr., and niece Trishelle Gordon.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his wife, Hope Gordon, his brother, James Gordon; and his grandson Austin Horton.
A celebration of life, including a Masonic Service, will be held on June 13, 2026, at 54 New County Road, Saco Maine.
Lewis's legacy of service, brotherhood, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
