
EAST LONGMEADOW – Bernice J. (Beaudoin) McNiff, 85, a longtime resident of South Hadley and a resident of East Longmeadow for the past few years, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on April 4, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Armand G. and Irene M. (Fredette) Beaudoin. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School in 1958 and had lived in South Hadley for 48 years before moving to East Longmeadow in 2023. She was employed at the former National Blank Book in Holyoke. She was a former communicant of Saint Patrick Church in South Hadley Falls and currently was a communicant of Saint Michael Church in East Longmeadow. She was a longtime volunteer at the Fairview Knights of Columbus Council 4044 in Chicopee and active with the Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts and the South Hadley High School Band for her children. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. Her family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the Baystate Medical Center fifth floor Intensive Care Unit Staff for their compassionate care of Bernice. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Thomas J. McNiff who was Called Home on December 16, 2025. They were married on June 3, 1961 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Keith A. McNiff and his wife, Catherine, of Rockport, MA, and Sharon A. Turowsky and her husband, Kenneth, and Lisa M. Adam and her husband, Joel, all of East Longmeadow; her six cherished grandchildren, Patrick McNiff and his partner, Kim, Daniel McNiff, Rosemary McNiff, Matthew Turowsky and his wife, Brooke, Mark Turowsky and his wife, Alessandra, and Michael Adam; her two cherished great grandchildren, Luca and Julianna Turowsky; her dear sister, Elaine Plante of Chicopee; her two dear sisters in law, Barbara Beaudoin of Connecticut and Dorothy Beaudoin of South Hadley; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and numerous friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Arthur L. Beaudoin and Kenneth A. Beaudoin; and her dear brother in law, Gerard “Ray” Plante. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 12 p.m. at the St. Pierre ~ Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road, South Hadley, MA 01075.
