
LACONIA ---- Alan Cushing died on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Concord Hospital in Laconia, NH.
Alan was born and raised in Concord, NH.
After graduation he joined the NH National Guard. After basic and advanced training at Fort Dix, NJ, Alan returned to the NH Guard and was assigned to the 114th Public Information Detachment as a photographer.
Alan was one of the original founders of Plan Tech Inc, a manufacturer of custom molded polyurethane products. The business started in his garage in 1986 and soon moved to Loudon, NH where it continued to expand. Alan became well known in the industry for developing new products and assisting companies throughout the country to improve manufacturing methods. The company was sold in 2016. Alan retired and moved to the Lakes Region, settling on Meredith Bay with his long-time partner, Toni Adair.
Alan was an avid bass fisherman. He enjoyed competing in tournaments for many years. He was a past president of American Bass Association of NH and the Northeast Bass Association of NH. In the off season, he traveled with friends fishing in the south and even in Mexico.
He loved music, enjoyed attending concerts for many years and was a drummer in local bands. He liked to travel. He visited many national parks and Eastern Europe and cruised to Alaska, Hawaii and the Baltic Region. In winters, he and Toni cruised to the Bahamas and Virgin Islands.
Alan was a Corvette aficionado. He restored a 1974 which when entered in shows became a consistent trophy winner. He owned several Corvettes. Some of his most memorable times were taking delivery of his 2001 at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY, traveling with the New England Caravan to the manufacturing plant, attending the annual Back to the Beach event in Old Orchard Beach, ME and taking delivery of his new mid-engine type 2021 C8.
Alan is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Toni Adair and her daughters, Shana Perry, Sabrina Adair and Kayla Adair and her husband Matthew Arcoite, and grandchildren, Devin Perry, Javian Flores, Amiyah Adair and Latalya Adair.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
