Doris Dupree Whitley, 94, of Tifton, formerly of Albany, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Berrien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held for Ms. Whitley on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Michael T. Bennett and Rev. Scott Walker officiating.
Ms. Whitley was born on November 24, 1931, in Atkinson County to the late Huey Dupree and Fannie Lewis Dupree. Ms. Whitley was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of Union Grove Church of God. In addition to her parents, Ms. Whitley was preceded in death by her husband: Teddie Whitley, one grandson, two sisters: Thelma Hood, and Evelyn Westberry, and one son-in-law, Mike Harrison.
Ms. Whitley is survived by two sons: David Teddie Whitley (Debbie) of Augusta, Larry Thomas Whitley (Jan) of Baxley, two daughters: Ellen Williams of Thomaston, LaNell Harrison of Tifton, one brother: Ed Dupree of Nashville, Georgia, two sisters: Ruth Bennett, and Elzia Young both of Nashville, Georgia, three sisters-in law: Jean Sparks of Tifton, Betty Tucker of Enigma, Deleen Sockey of Augusta, ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
