
Wayne M. Pittsley, 72, of Freetown, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Sippican Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (Dillingham) Pittsley, they shared 47 years of marriage.
Mr. Pittsley was born in Acushnet, son of the late Maurice A. Pittsley and the late Janet B. (Laventure) Lanagan and had resided in Freetown for all of his life. He worked for Sears Automotive as a brake specialist as well as a truck driver for Cape Cod Ready Mix until retirement, which he took early due to medical difficulties. He enjoyed his antique cars, especially his 1972 Corvette and 1966 Nova. He liked to work on cars and go to car shows. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He loved his annual camping trips with his kids when they were younger and coaching his daughter's softball team.
Survivors include his daughters: Hildie M. Aguiar and her husband Raymond and Sheila A. Bettencourt and her husband Keith; his son: Jason A. Pittsley and his wife Elizabeth; 10 Grandchildren: Alicia Gifford, Devin Gifford, Ashleigh Bettencourt, Soraya Bettencourt, Gavin Pittsley, Tyler Bettencourt, Booth Pittsley, Brayden Aguiar, Cassidy Aguiar and Zoe Pittsley; his step-father: Robert A. Lanagan; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Dale R. Pittsley.
