Pamela Kay (Morgan) Janes
May 3, 1951- March 7, 2026

ANDERSON--Pamela Kay (Morgan) Janes, 74, of Anderson passed away peacefully at her son’s home on March 7, 2026 following an extended illness.

She was born on May 3, 1951 in Kokomo, Indiana to Wayne Morgan and June (Thompson) Mahlke. She was a secretary for adult probation for many years and retired in 2000.

She loved flower gardening, sitting on her front porch with her husband, people watching, listening to soundtracks especially Dirty Dancing and The Bodyguard. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two children, James Jr. (Joiceann) Janes of Alexandria and Tammy Butler of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Harper “Austin” Janes of Alexandria, Brett Butler of Arlington, VA, Dustin Butler, Chelsie (Drew) Bolt, Jeffrey Butler and Aaron Butler all of Lafayette, and Tyler (Monica) Butler of Louisville, KY; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (John) Renshaw of Kokomo; two nieces, Kelsey (AJ) Holt of Kokomo and Kenzie (Devon) Orbaugh of Westfield; and a great-nephew, Lane Holt.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, June and Bob Mahlke; her husband, James L. Janes Sr. in January 2026; her son, Jerry Brown and a brother, Tony Morgan.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kaylee Jennings, Freda Kangw, and Tailer Pangallo for all of their loving care and support with providing her wonderful hospice care.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
