William David Smith, 73, passed away on March 5th 2026 at Linda Manor of Northampton. He was born September 21st 1952 in Middletown, Connecticut. He was the son of late George and Laverne B. (Golf) Smith. William served the Air Force for 20 years and worked many years for The City Of Springfield Parks. He was welcomed into heaven by his late wife of 25 years Theresa Smith who passed away in 2009. He was also welcomed in to Heaven by his late daughter, Dawn M. Smith who passed away in 2012. He leaves behind his three daughters, Dana Nicole Smith-Edwards of Wichita, Kansas, Billie Dee Smith of Holyoke, MA, Tracy Ann Lelgeman of Springfield, MA and her late husband (son-in-law) Andrew Lelgeman who passed in 2009. He also leaves behind his brothers, George Smith and His wife Hazel of Texas, Gerald Smith with his late wife Delores Smith who passed away in 2019 of Middletown, Ct, Donald Smith and Frances of Middletown, CT and his beloved Sister, Robin Elizabeth Bruton of New Haven, CT. He leaves 13 beloved grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. A private burial with his daughter's and grandchildren will take place in Middletown, CT at a later date. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
