Obituary

Sean Scott Shields, age 55, of Weymouth, MA, passed away in Boston, MA, on March 6, 2026.

He was born on May 9, 1970, in Miami, FL, and grew up in Rockland, Massachusetts. Sean was a loving father, son, and uncle.

He attended Rockland High School, where he played basketball and softball. He continued playing in local softball leagues after high school.

Sean worked in the landscaping business for most of his life, having his own business, Shields Landscape and Handyman Co. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, sports, music, and going to concerts.

He was a big fan of all New England sports and loved going to games.

He enjoyed cooking and hosting cookouts for friends and family.

He loved his grandmother, Nanny, deeply, and she was a very important part of his life.

He loved dogs and had a childhood favorite, Missy, an Airedale Terrier who adored him.

Sean was a fun-loving, quick-witted, funny guy. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a big jokester. He could make anyone laugh and lighten the mood quickly if needed.

Sean loved his daughters, Malia and Kiara, who were his pride and joy. He was incredibly proud of them and cherished all the beautiful memories they shared together.

His spirit lives on in those he leaves behind, and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother, Donna Shields, and her partner, Bob Allen, of Rockland, MA; his former spouse, Dorene Doo of Brockton, MA; his two daughters, Malia Shields of Quincy, MA, and Kiara Shields of Brockton, MA; his best friends, Steve Azar of Weymouth, MA, and Ed Steele of Quincy, MA; and his beloved dog, Niko. He also leaves behind two aunts, two uncles, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Shields of Oakland, CA; his grandmother, Barbara Hart of Punta Gorda, FL; and his aunt, Valerie Murphy of Prince Edward Island, Canada.
