
William “Bill” E. Cooper, 95 of Derry, NH died Sunday March 8, 2026 at the Inn at Deerfield in Deerfield, NH. He was born in Derry on May 5, 1930, a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Sullivan) Cooper and had been a lifelong resident.
Bill spent most of his life working in construction, where he operated heavy equipment, built highways and excavated on jobsites throughout New Hampshire. In his personal life he was passionate and outspoken, always helping out people in need of a voice. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his son, Mark Cooper and his wife Kim of Candia, NH, five grandchildren, Michael, Tina, Connor, Rachel and Angela, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jane (Huckins) Cooper in 2009, by his son, Billy Cooper in 1994, and by four brothers and five sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 15, 2026 from 3 – 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry with prayers and words of remembrance at 4:30pm. He will be buried privately with his beloved wife and son in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
