Obituary

Nancy A. Milligan, 79

Dateline: Norton, MA

Nancy A. (Marcotti) Milligan, age 79, of Norton, formerly of Stow, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell T. Milligan, to whom she was wed for fifty years at the time of his death on June 30, 2019.

Born in Somerville, MA on March 3, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Carl N. and Constance M. (Ivany) Marcotti.

Nancy grew up in the city of Somerville and was a 1965 graduate of Somerville High, where she was a member of the student government and a member of the cheerleading squad. She furthered her education, graduating in 1969 from Boston State College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education. While in college, she also served as a cheerleader.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Milligan worked as an elementary teacher at the Pompo School and at the Center School, both in Stow. She was a former resident of Stow for over forty years and was a communicant of Saint Isidore Church, where she sang in the church choir and was actively involved with the church women’s group.

Nancy’s family, whom she loved dearly, were the focal point of her life and her greatest joy, especially being a grandmother. She had a passion for quilting, which she shared with her beloved friends and for many years, loved hosting Christmas gatherings at her home in Stow. Nancy possessed exceptional baking skills which she always shared with others and the memories created, during the summer months at White Horse beach in Plymouth, will live on in her family’s hearts forever.

She is survived by her devoted children, Thomas R. Milligan of Spencer and Janice N. Araujo of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Acacia, Kadin, Madelyn and Wyatt. She was the dear sister of Linda M. Marcotti of Somerville, Joan L. Olson and her husband Peter of Duxbury, Thomas A. Marcotti of Plymouth and is also survived by her much-loved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, to be announced in Plymouth. Visiting hours are omitted and burial will be private.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street, Norton.
