
Margaret J. “Peg” (Hunnefeld) Ferrazzani, 82, of Somerville, died peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough. She was the beloved wife of Joseph J. Ferrazzani since 1967.
Born in Roxbury on January 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Josephine (MacIssac) Hunnefeld.
Peg was a resident of Somerville for most of her life. She grew up in Roslindale and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. While attending St. Joseph’s, she enjoyed being score keeper for the basketball games, as well as avoiding going to Latin classes by singing in the choir. She so loved to sing!
Before her retirement, she worked at Kmart in Somerville for ten years and had formerly worked at New England Telephone Company for 6 years.
Peg was an avid bowler and on the evenings after her bowling league, would dine at the European Restaurant in Boston, which is also where she met her husband Joseph of 58 years. She shared her love of bowling with her children taking them to the local bowling alley up the street.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son James Ferrazzani and his wife Staci of Sutton, her daughter Lora Peddle and her husband Rob of Providence, Rhode Island, and four grandchildren, Erica, Thomas, Julianna and Joseph.
She is also survived by three brothers, Vinny Hunnefeld and his wife May of Natick, Charles Hunnefeld and his wife Sandy of San Antonio, Texas, and Henry Hunnefeld and his wife Angelica of Miami, Florida, three brothers-in-law Lou Ferrazzani and his wife Helen of Reading, Paul Ferrazzani and his wife Barbara of Norwood, Ronnie Ferrazzani and his wife Joyce of Methuen, her sister-in-law Anna Ferrazzani Greene and her husband Duane Greene of Montague, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Smith and sister-in-law of the late Tom Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, March 11th from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
