Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nana, and GiGi, Patricia R. (Flynn) Curran, who passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 85 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Born on January 24, 1941, in Winthrop, Massachusetts, she later became a lifelong resident of South Boston, where she raised her five children with her husband, Edward.

Pat was caring, loving, affectionate, and honest. Her unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. From ferry rides to Nantasket, trips to the ocean, vacations on Cape Cod, and traveling to some of her favorite places—including Niagara Falls, the Catskill Mountains, New York City, and Ireland—these moments brought her immense happiness.

What she cherished most was her home away from home: her camper permanently parked at Silver Sands in New Hampshire. It was there that her children and grandchildren gathered to create lifelong memories—sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, laughing endlessly, playing horseshoes and cards, swimming in the lake, and riding bikes together.

Pat’s last residence at Monsignor Powers was also where she met some of the most wonderful, caring, and supportive friends: Chris, Leo, Dawn, and Linda. Our family will be forever grateful to all of you.

Pat was a devoted and dedicated mother with a compassionate heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remain in our hearts.

We love you, Mom, Nana, GiGi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Declan and Theresa Flynn, her sisters, Beverly Gates and Theresa Willy, her nephew, Sean Willy and her husband Edward Curran.

Pat is survived by her five cherished children: Patricia Reed of Randolph; Michael Curran of Holbrook; John Curran of Canton; Edward Curran of Holbrook; and Sharon Curran of South Boston. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren: Nicole, Laurence, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Johnny, Paul, Jack, Sophia, and Morgan; and the loving great-grandmother of five: Christopher, Jayden, Christian, Gianna, and Lexi. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Her love and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Services will be held at Caspers Funeral & Cremation Services, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston, MA 02127. Visiting hours will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree, MA 02184.

May she rest in peace.
