Muriel Frances Paris, 84, of Auburn, NH, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her residence after a period of declining health.
Muriel was born July 10, 1941, in Lowell, MA, and was the daughter of the late Darryl and Willa Singleton. She was raised and educated in Tyngsboro, MA. Muriel had been a resident of Auburn since 1975.
Muriel was an avid birdwatcher and loved feeding the many species that visited her yard. She also enjoyed reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Above all, Muriel loved cats, both her own and others.
Members of the family include her loving husband of 37 years, John W. Paris Sr.; her daughter, Deborah Peck; three stepchildren and their spouses, Rebecca (Jamie) Cook, Sarah (John) Tourville, and John W. (Tammy) Paris Jr.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Dennis) Matteau and Kevin (Jamie) Peck; five step-grandchildren, Joshua Goff, Grace and Edward Tourville, and Sarah and Sesyle Cook; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas, Alexander, Alyssa, Mya, and Callie; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brycen and Beckett.
Muriel was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Gleason, in 1977; by her brother, Wayne Singleton; and by her son-in-law, Dennis Peck, Deborah’s late husband, who was like a son to her.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Sunday April 12, 2026, from 2 to 4pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
