Atty. David P. Brauer of Dover and Harwich Port formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away on September 11, 2006 at his Dover home surrounded by his family. He was 68. Mr. Brauer was born in Boston in 1937 and was the son of the late Curtis and Alice (Cleary) Brauer. He was a Dover resident for over 30 years.
Mr. Brauer was a graduate of Boston Latin School, Boston College class of 1959 and Boston College Law School class of 1962. A Vietnam Veteran having served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army, Mr. Brauer was a partner in the Law Firm of Brauer & Brauer in Medfield.
He was a former Selectman for the Town of Dover and a former member of the Board of Trustees at Newton Country Day School. He was a member of the Dover Sherborn Regional School Committee and a member of the choir at Most Precious Blood Church in Dover
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Margaret G. (Walsh) Brauer. His children David P. Brauer of Walpole, Robert J. Brauer and his wife Mary of Sudbury, Paul G. Brauer and his wife Diane of Dover, Susan E. Cavanaugh and her husband Stephen of Newburyport, Christopher M. Brauer and his wife Kimberly of West Roxbury, Stephen M. Brauer and his wife Joan Saab of Rochester, NY, Richard P. Brauer and his wife Stephanie Sluka Brauer of Jamaica Plain and Kerin E. Nunn and her husband Dennis of Boston. His grandchildren Carrie, Kristen, Paul, Matthew, Scott, Finn and Wilson Brauer and Samantha Cavanaugh and his siblings John J. Brauer of Canton and Kathleen Kennedy of Milton.
His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Friday at 9:00 AM. His funeral mass will be celebrated in Most Precious Blood Church, Dover, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 3-8 PM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
