Michele (Lentine) Gerety, age 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those she loved on March 3, 2026. A lifelong resident of Medford, Michele was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian (DeBenedictis) Lentine.
A proud graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1964, Michele went on to earn her degree in Education from Boston College, an accomplishment that reflected her lifelong commitment to learning. Michele carried that passion into her thirty-year career at Wakefield Memorial High School where she was a teacher of mathematics. As a teacher, Michele was known for her patience, kindness and belief that every student could succeed with the right encouragement.
At home, Michele's greatest joy was her family. She loved to cook and host dinners for her family and friends. Time spent entertaining at her home in Medford and on Cape Cod were among Michele's most cherished memories.
Michele is survived by her adoring husband, Paul, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Todd Gerety and his wife Kristen, and Jill Beagan and her husband, Sean and the cherished Grammy to her six beloved grandchildren, Andrew Gerety and his wife, Haley, Marie-Elena Gerety, Christopher Gerety, Lillian Beagan, Michele Beagan, Katherine Beagan and great granddaughter, Grace Gerety. Michele is also survived by her devoted sister, Patricia Callahan, and her husband, James and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michele will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Monday, March 9th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning, March 10th, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Mary Queen of Piece Parish, 118 High St., Medford, at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
