Obituary

LACONIA --- Donald Lee Whitten, 82, of Blueberry Lane, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center – Genesis.

Donald was born on August 13, 1943, in Laconia, NH, to the late Linwood Whitten and Ardele (Page) Whitten.

Donald worked as a sander for Aavid Thermalloy. He was very involved with the Salvation Army Church. Donald stood at the kettles for years until he was unable to do so.

Donald is survived by his sons Christopher Whitten, of Laconia, NH, and Chad Whitten and his wife Shannon, of FL; daughter Angela Stimpson and her husband Brian, of Deering, NH; brother Linwood Whitten Jr., of Hobb Sound, FL; grandchildren Brian Stimpson Jr., Candice Patterson, Brett Bourassa, Devin Whitten, Brandon Whitten, Tyler Whitten, and Katlyn Whitten; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Donald is predeceased by his wife of thirty-six years, Norma (Cheney) Whitten, daughter Melanie Whitten, grandson Andrew Whitten, and sister-in-law Jane Whitten.

A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:30pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30pm at the Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.

Burial will be held at a later date in the family lot in Maplewood Cemetery, Rte 4, Salisbury, NH.
