Carl V. DeClemente, 77, of Mansfield died on Monday September 11, 2006 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA He was the beloved husband of Louise A. (Scarpellini) DeClemente to whom he was wed to on October 12, 1950.
Born in Mansfield, MA on September 24, 1928 he was a loving son of the late Vincenzo E. and Madeline M. (Buratti) DeClemente.
He was educated in Mansfield schools and was a 1946 graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal.
Mr. DeClemente worked as a men’s clothing salesman at Filenes in Chestnut Hill for 16 years prior to retiring in 1993. He had formerly worked at DeClemente’s in Mansfield; a former clothing shop which he ran with his family from 1946 till 1977.
Carl was communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He was a member and a past Grand Knight of the George C. Shields Council Knights of Columbus in Mansfield. He was a former member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society in Mansfield and was a former member of the Mansfield Lions Club. He was a lifelong resident of Mansfield.
He treasured the wonderful times spent with his loving family. Carl enjoyed landscaping his yard, refinishing furniture and spending time on Cape Cod.
Besides his beloved wife Louise of over 55 years he is survived by his devoted children Michael C. DeClemente and his wife Patricia of Billerica and Maria L. Emery and her husband James of Raynham. His dear sisters Mary E. DiMasi of Florida, Dora G. Cefalo of Needham and Rita I. Thornton of Blacksburg, Virginia. His cherished grandchildren Joshua DeClemente of Winchester, Jessica D. White of Taunton, Justin R. Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Lisa M. Emery and Cory J. Emery all of Raynham and Amanda Osborne and Brandy Osborne both of Billerica. Also survived by his great grandchildren Christopher S. White and Taylor M. White both of Taunton as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday September 15th at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 14th from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
