
Frances (Fran) Brayman, 86, of Groton, was called home to Jesus on February 28th 2026, surrounded by her family and lots of love.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and undeniable love shaped all of those who were lucky enough to know her. She found her greatest joy in her family and was known for her beautifully knitted crafts . Fran was a long-time member of Union Baptist Church in Mystic, Connecticut where she enjoyed fellowship and community.
Fran was predeceased by her husband of many years, Douglas E. Brayman Sr. as well as her parents, sisters and brothers, and son-in-law Christopher Powden. She is survived by her children Douglas (Cynthia) Brayman Jr. and Beverly Powden as well as her 6 grandchildren: Casey Powden, Jordan (Amanda) Brayman, MaryKate Powden, Sargeant 1st Class Michael (Laura) Powden, Elizabeth Brayman, and Stephen Brayman and her 2 great-grand children: Jax and Kai Powden.
A memorial service will be Monday 3/9 at 10am at Union Baptist Church in Mystic (119 High St.) with a private burial in the spring. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Union Baptist Church.
