Doris A. Barboni (Ricci) passed peacefully on February 24, 2026 at the age of 101. Doris was born and raised in Needham and moved to Newton Centre following her marriage to her late husband Henry Barboni.
Doris is survived by her three loving children and their spouses, Gerald and Virginia Barboni, Susan and Michael Fowler and Nancy and Sergio Colantonio. She was adored by and cherished her six grandchildren, her seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Ricci and the late Frances Bottero.
After graduating from Needham High in 1943, Doris worked at Carters Apparel, New England Telephone and eventually operated Countryside Beauty Salon in Newton with her loving sister Frances. She loved traveling with her beloved husband Henry and spent many wonderful times with him and family on Cape Cod.
Visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Thursday, March 5th from 9:30-10:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Needham at 11am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, 2095 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631
