Lillian Mollo, 94, of Smithfield, passed away on Friday February 27th, surrounded by her family at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Mollo, Jr. They had been married for 56 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Emilia Rizzo. She had worked for the former Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company in Southern California before returning to Rhode Island in 1963 when the family moved to Smithfield.
She leaves her children, Paula M. Mollo of Smithfield and Joseph P. Mollo, III Chief, SFD retired and his companion Jennifer Penney of Warren. She was the grandmother of Joseph P. Mollo, IV and his wife Samantha (Gabrielson) of Barrington and Michael Mollo and his wife Devon (Desaulniers) of Cranston. She was the great-grandmother of Gabriella Mollo, Joseph Mollo V, James Mollo and Nora Mollo. She was also the great-grandmother of the late Sophia Mollo. She was the sister of the late Gilda Rizzo, Anna Gargaro and Viola Maccarone.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11AM in St. Michael's Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI. Visitation respectfully omitted. Burial private.
