Obituary

Robert T. Harrison 72, of Franklin died Friday September *, 2006 at Milford Regional Medical Center, shortly after his arrival there. He was the husband of Marie S. (Castellucci) Harrison.
Born in Hickman, Kentucky May 5, 1934 a son of the late Fred and Irene (Terrett) Harrison, he lived in Franklin since 1963.
He was raised and educated in Kentucky, and was a retired career naval serviceman. He was a veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam wars. He attained the rank of Gunners Mate 2nd class, and served for more than 19 years until his retirement in 1971. He was awarded the Navy Occupational Service Ribbon, The Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, and 4 Good Conduct Medals. Following his discharge from the Navy in 1971, he worked as a welder for General Dynamics Ship Yard in Quincy for over 11 years until it’s closing. In later years, he was a self employed painter and interior decorator.
He was a member of the Medway VFW and the Medway American Legion, The Franklin Lodge of Elks, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Franklin Senior Citizens.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 44 years are 3 sons Richard Drake of Missouri, Kenneth Drake of Whitinsville, Ronald Drake of Franklin a daughter Sharon Drake of New Sweden, Maine, a brother William Harrison of Tenn., 2 sisters Patsy Harrison and Joyce Eliot both of Kentucky. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Wednesday September 13, 2006 at 2PM with a graveside service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Interment will follow there.
Calling hours are Tuesday September 12, 2006 from 5-8PM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN.
