Jeanne Lamour, who was born on Thursday, February 10, 1938. It was on Thursday, February
5, 2026, that Jeanne took her last breath at CHA Cambridge Hospital while the doctors did
everything they knew to keep her heart going. But her heart could no longer continue. The day
came for her to meet her Lord.
Born in Jerome, Haiti. Jeanne was the daughter of the late Anatole Lamour and Ameline
Alcejaere. She gave birth to two sons. Her eldest son Johnny Colo is the father of five children,
and her youngest son, Darly Lamour who predeceased her, was the loving father of five
children. In total, she was blessed with eight cherished grandchildren. She was blessed with
four devoted daughters-in-law.
Jeanne was not someone who sought attention. She was a person who took care of her own
business. One thing she used to say was,
'Everything amuses me but nothing binds me. To be or not to be.'
Jeanne faith was the center of her life. She believed in God with a certainty that was never
shaken. She loved this verse, Exodus 14:14: 'Be still, the Lord will fight for you.' I used to get up
and see her prayerfully reading her Bible. She also loved singing praises to God. She did not
read the Bible as a habit, but as food for her soul.
As we say goodbye today, The family remembers the legacy she left behind. It is not a material legacy, but a legacy of values—faith, discipline, family, and integrity. She lived a life that honored God, as best as she could.
