Margarita Santiago, age 73, of Chicago, Illinois, was peacefully called home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Born and raised in Chicago, Margarita lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family. She was a beloved sister to Rosa, Raul, and Lorenzo, and a cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart. Her kindness, quiet strength, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Margarita is now reunited in eternal peace with her loving parents, Carlos Santiago and Antonia Godinez. We take comfort in knowing she rests in God’s embrace, where sorrow and suffering are no more, and where she joins those who have gone before her in faith.
Funeral mass Friday, February 20, 2026 at St Procopius Church, 10am 1641 S Allport St.
A burial service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 87th and Hamlin Avenue, Evergreen Park. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in peace.

Nacida y criada en Chicago, Margarita vivió una vida llena de amor, fe y profunda devoción a su familia. Fue una hermana querida de Rosa, Raúl y Lorenzo, y una tía muy especial para sus muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, a quienes llevaba siempre en su corazón. Su bondad, fortaleza serena y espíritu cálido serán profundamente extrañados por todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.
Hoy Margarita se reúne en la paz eterna con sus amados padres, Carlos Santiago y Antonia Godínez. Nos consuela la fe saber que descansa en los brazos de Dios, donde ya no hay dolor ni sufrimiento, y donde se encuentra con aquellos que la precedieron en la fe.

El sepelio se llevará a cabo el viernes 20 de febrero de 2026 en el Cementerio St. Mary’s, ubicado en 87th y Hamlin Avenue, Evergreen Park.
