John Francis “Johnny” Posco, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at The Highlands in Fitchburg, after several years of living with Alzheimer’s disease. His family had been by his side earlier that day. He was the beloved husband of Kimberly Jean (Keating) Posco, with whom he would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this coming September.
Born in Leominster on March 27, 1948, Johnny was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (DeCiantes) Posco. He was raised and educated in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1966. Following graduation, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam era.
Music was the rhythm of Johnny’s life. A talented drummer who began taking lessons as a child and played in his high school band, he went on to become a professional musician. Over the years, he performed with various bands throughout the Boston area, bringing energy and joy to countless weddings, parties, and corporate events. Whether on stage or off, Johnny had a natural ability to entertain. He was quick-witted, funny, and full of life, someone who could make any moment more fun and leave people smiling.
In addition to his musical career, Johnny owned and operated John Fitch Printing in Fitchburg for several years and later worked as a limousine driver for Plaza Limousine for a decade. For the last twenty five years, he made his home in Lowell and Tewksbury.
John was a man with deep faith and loved God. He spent most of his adult life as an active member of the Boston Center of Self-Realization Fellowship.
In addition to his loving wife, Kimberly of Tewksbury, he leaves his three children, Julianne Posco Poles and her husband David of Fitchburg, Christopher Posco of Fitchburg, and Angela Calderon and her husband Larry of Fitchburg; his two grandchildren, Gianna Calderon and Mesiyah Calderon, both of Fitchburg; and his siblings, Peter Posco of Lowell, Mary Gleason of Leominster, and Patricia Mace of Ware. He is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Johnny was previously married to the late Linda (Stout) Posco, who passed away in September 2024, and was the brother of the late Anthony R. Posco.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury. A brief prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a place that was very dear to Johnny: the Boston Center of Self-Realization Fellowship, 66 Fellsway West, Somerville, MA 02145
