James Roy Mitchell, 81, of Port Arthur, Texas, died December 21, 2025.
Private memorial services were held at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
He was born January 7, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John C. Mitchell, Sr. and the late Sally Smith Mitchell. He was a 1962 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1962-1968. He worked as an electrical engineer.
He is survived by his sister, G. Joyce Mitchell Werner; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Mitchell; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John C. Mitchell, Jr. and Theodore L. Mitchell.
